Father Gregory Boyle, founder and director of Homeboy Industries, talks about his book "Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion" as part of the Katharine Howard Miller Endowed Speakers Program with support from: SCORE, SAS, The Humanities Institute, SIF and The American Studies Department.
The talk will start at 7pm in the Balch Auditorium at Scripps College.
Following his talk there will be a reception and book signing in the Hampton Room with delicious refreshment from Homegirl Cafe.
Father Greg’s first book, Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion, was released on March 9, 2010, which received the 2010 SCIBA (Southern California Indie Booksellers Association) Non-Fiction Book Award and was named as one of the Best Books of 2010 by Publishers Weekly. The 2010 Goodreads Choice Awards finds Fr. Greg nominated as Best Debut Author and his book is nominated in the Nonfiction category (winning announcements in January 2011).
