The Dissertation Workshop is a biweekly group that gathers to help students writing proposals and dissertations, where we set goals, report on progress, and engage in peer writing feedback and support through the dissertation process.

WHO: All CGU students who are writing dissertation proporals or dissertations.

WHY:  Because dissertating does not have to be an isolating, maddeningly slow process.

WHAT:  In the dissertation workshops:

  • We set and report on intentions for moving our work forward
  • We share tips and strategies for managing, balancing, and negotiating our dissertation process in relation to the multiple other roles we have in life. This is also known as "owning your crazy" ....
  • We read and give feedback to short pieces of our writing. Each time, we work on different people's writing. This is a safe and productive space to get some feedback, and if nothing else to hear your words live for real in the world.
